Type Description
- Type 566 Avenger
- Single seat biplane fighter. A private venture to meet Specification 21/23, it was possibly also a late submission to Specification 7/24.The fuselage was a semi-monocoque of elm frames and spruce longitudinals, double planked in mahogany, fabric covered and varnished. The single bay, staggereed, unequal span mainplanes featured two spruce spars and plywood ribs, fabric covered and rigged with N-type interplane struts. Ailerons were fitted on the upper wings only. The tailplane and fin were cantiveler structures, bolted to stub spars built into the fuselage. The undercarriage was of the cross-axle type, with oleo and rubber-in-compression front legs, and a sprung tail skid. One 525 h.p. Napier Lion VIII powerplant, cooled by Lamblin radiators built into the underside of the upper maiplanes.
- Type 567 Avenger II
- Single seat racing biplane. Type 566 with smaller, equal span wings of reduced chord, span and gap, streamlined I-Type interplane struts and ailerons on all four wings. The main undercarriage legs were reduced stightly in length and raked forward. 553 h.p. Napier Lion IX powerplant.
