History
The Conisborough and District Model Aircraft Society, was formed in May 1910, with Carleton C. Allport elected Hon. Secretary. At the General meeting held on the 1 December 1910, several details with regard to a proposed glider were settled, with J. E. Greathead elected to be captain and overseer of the glider. It would be of the Farman type of 24 ft. span, the main planes being 5 ft. wide and set 5 ft. apart, covered with calico and mounted on wheels which were offered by Mr. H. Cowles. Work had begun by January. At the Annual General Meeting on 3 May 1911, the Society was renamed the Conisborough and District Aeroplane Society, and it was announced that a biplane gider was presented to the Society by the Sheffield Aero Club. It appears the Farman type gider had been discontinued by this point.

Production Details and Type Description
A biplane gider of 42 ft. span was presented to the Conisborough and District Aero Society, Yorks, by the Sheffield Aero Club in May 1911, and consisted of a pair of two bay wings, with no stabilising surfaces. Following a rebuild, the span was reduced lto 24 ft., and in this form it carried its pilot to a height of 20 ft. when towed by hand into a light breeze. This was evidently thought to be too risky, and flying was discontinued.
A glider of Demoiselle type was under construction by club members F.J. Wright and G.N. Wilton in the seond half of 1911.
