History
W.R.L. Beaumont (probably William Levy Ransom L'Estrange Beaumont, the son of William Levi Beaumont and Agnes Eleanor Lydia Beaumont (neƩ L'Estrange), born in India on 2 May 1893 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India), and C. Pritchard Davis, members of the Birmingham Aero Club, built a biplane glider in 1914. On 8 February, on taking it out for its initial trials without any assistance, the machine was blown across the airfield, presumably the Club airfield at Billesley Farm, and destroyed.
A power driven monoplane was reported as nearing completion and to be ready about autumn that year but nothing more was heard.
William Levy Ransom L'Estrange Beaumont later emiigrated to Canada in September 1923.
