Type Description
- Model B5 AOP.9
- Three seat, high-wing monoplane Army air observation aircraft, to Specification A.20/49 to meet the requirements of OR.270. It was the first Auster production aircraft not based on the original Taylorcraft airframe. The wing was an all metal single spar structure, fabric covered aft of the spar, featuring large flaps and drooping ailerons. The fuselage was typical Auster, being a welded steel tube structure with fabric covering. Tailplane was a cantilever tressed skin construction with horn balance on all surfaces. All flying control surfaces were fabric covered. One 173 hp Blackburn Cirrus Bombardier 203 powerplant.
