Production Details and Type Description
- Model J Auster Mk.V
- As Model G with the addition of a blind flying panel and a controllable elevator trim tab replacing the small adjustable vane, attached to the fuselage just under the tailplane to act as tail trimmer, which had been a feature of all previous models. 130 h.p. Lycoming O-290-3/1 powerplant.
Type Specification was the same as the Auster IV.

William Horace Leadbetter (born 4 January 1900 in Hixon, Staffordshire - died January 1984 in Walsall, Staffordshire) was a motor mechanic and garage proprietor who dealt in war surplus aircraft from Four Oaks, Warwickshire. - Proops Brothers:
In 1946, members of the Proops family opened a shop on Tottenham Court Road, London, close to the major shopping district. They traded in War Surplus items as well as many other clearance, job lot lines. The principle products were medical equipment and 'technical' items from aircraft such as instrumentation and electrical components. - RK Dundas:
Lawrence Aldred Mervyn Dundas (later 3rd Marquess of Zetland, b. November 12, 1908 - d.October 5,1989) set up a company, RK Dundas Limited, together with Ronald Douglas King (Airspeed's sales manager), as Aeronautical Engineers and Agents at The Airport, Portsmouth (Registered Office), to act as Airspeed sales agents in India and Burma, later taking over as UK sales agents from Aircraft Exchange and Mart. Postwar, they were listed as manufacturers, stockists and agents at home and abroad for the Aircraft and Allied Industries. - JH Keller:
JH Keller AG, Zurich, is a car dealership, established in 1933, and still in business today. - Établissements Bainier Auto Hall:
Car dealership Établissements Bainier Auto Hall was founded by Émile Bainier, a skilled mechanic, in Saigon in around 1908. After his death in December 1941, Bainier’s widow and her son Jacques Bainier continued to run the Établissements Bainier for the remainder of the colonial period, but some time after 1953 the garage was closed and the family sold up and returned to France. - W. S. Shackleton Ltd:
William Shackleton formed W. S. Shackleton Ltd in 1935 and during this pre-war period, the firm handled most types of British light aircraft. Post-War, the firm quickly got into its stride again and many pre-war and wartime aircraft were sold in Europe and exported to all parts of the world. In 1960 Mr Raymond Way, a well-known car dealer, acquired the share capital of W. S. Shackleton Ltd. Following the takeover, the company became known as W.S. Shackleton (Aviation) Ltd and later simply Shackleton Aviation Ltd.

- Rene Barbaro was a flight test engineer with Sud Aviation who designed, built and flew several aircraft in the 1960s and early 1970s.
- SU-AHA, 'B, 'C and 'D registered at the same time. SU-AHD/TJ363 was sold by the British Surplus Disposals Mission on 27 October 1947, so it is likely the candidates for SU-AHA, 'B, 'C come from TJ197, TJ201, TJ400, TJ408, TJ421, TJ451 and TJ504.
