History
Following the death of John Britten, one of the founders of Britten-Norman, Aircraft Designs (Bembridge) Ltd was formed in 1979 to continue development of the Britten Sheriff two/four-seat light plane. Chairman was Robin Britten, brother of John, and other directors included Jim McMahon and Frank Mann, fellow founder directors of Britten-Norman.
