History

The Aerial Manufacturing Company of Great Britain and Ireland, was formed in lated 1909 at The Aviation Grounds, Woodham Ferrers, Essex, with registered offices located in Finsbury, North London. They built a monoplane in 1909 designed by W.J. Potter and which featured a form of retractable undercarriage. It was flown by Alec Ogilvie at Camber Sands, Sussex, toward the end of the year.

In early 1910 the company was advertising its intention to build an all-British Farman type and indeed the Edward Mines Aviation Syndicate was formed to purchase such an aircraft for races, competitions, etc. There appears to be no evidence that such was ever built.

In July 1910 the company produced a bulky list of aeroplane accessories entitled "The World's Aviation Catalogue, 1910-1911" which also listed the "British King" biplane, the "Irish Prince" monoplane, and the "Transcendent" monoplane, supposedly under construction, but there seems no evidence these actually existed

Also in 1910, the Aerial Manufacturing Co created an unusual T-shaped aircraft hanger, which they claimed have more efficient use of space than a traditional rectangular type.

By 1911 the company appears to no longer be extant.
