Notes
  1. Type 504N Instructional Airframe 3118M (Ex H5199/G-ADEV) to the Shuttleworth Collection as G-ACNB in October 1981 and reconverted to Type 504K. Registration restored to G-ADEV in April 1984 but carries military serial E3404.

  2. Most sources give the previous military serials for the three aircraft delivered to South African Aerial Transport as H2583, H2584 and H2591. H2591 appears confirmed from 'Royal Air Force Aircraft J1 - J9999' [1] but H2583 was a 504K converted to 504N in RAF service [1]. An unlikely source [25] shows 'The Rand Queen' as H2383 which would appear more likely. Additionally, as the CAA registration register was transcribed in 1939, it is quite possible a copying error was made. Based the foregoing, this author has assumed H2583 and H2584 should really be H2353 and H2384 respectively.

  3. Jackson [2] also gives O-BADB to SNETA March 1921, as does and airhistory.org [27], but there is no further evidence of this. Belgian-wings [33] shows (with photograph) O-BADB as a Renard RSV 32/90.

  4. According to Jackson [2], two unregistered aircraft were used by Auto Aero Services Ltd for inter-railhead services.

  5. According to Aerial Age magazine [54], A.G. (or A.E.) Laresche of Walgett ordered a Dyak powered 504K in 1920.

  6. Aircraft with Military Serial indicated as 'Not Rec'd' were possibly built from spares.

  7. When the Imperial Gift reached New Zealand they were either placed in storage or loaned to the flying schools, barnstormers and nascent commercial operators, as indicated in the Imperial Gifts Table.

  8. This per Japanese Civil Aircraft Register [15]. However, per [50], this was collected from Japan by Zhang Kuncan and shipped it back to Taiwan by ship, named "Taichung". The aircraft was assembled on 10 July 1936.

  9. Given c/n's or original RFC serials are for batch only and are not in direct relationship to the new identity.
