Produced Variants

J/2 Arrow Two seat tourer similar to the ''Sharps Special''. 75 h.p. Continental C-75-12 powerplant.
J/3 Atom Model J/2 fitted with a 65 h.p. Continental C-65-12 powerplant.
J/4 Archer Model J/2 fitted with a 90 h.p. Cirrus Minor I powerplant.


Non Auster Produced Variants

J/2C "Super Arrow" Model J/2 fitted with a 125 h.p. Continental C-125-2 powerplant with enclosed cowling.
J/4S Model J/4 fitted with a 100 h.p. Blackburn Cirrus Minor 2A powerplant. See note 1.
J/4T Archer Special Model J/4 fitted with a 90 h.p. Cirrus Minor 2A powerplant and an experimental tricycle undercarriage.
J/4 Archer Special Model J/4T reverted to standard tailwheel undercarriage.
J4-100 Model J/4 fitted with a 100 h.p. Continental 0-200 powerplant.

  1. Model Plus D G-AWFO was fitted with Cirrus Minor 2A powerplant plus u/c, engine bulkhead and bearers from Autocrat G-AGXB in May 1963 (by Thurston Engineering Ltd., Stapleford?) and re-designated J/4S (quoted in BCAN Vol 20 No.17, 14 Sep 1963, although not shown on CofR documentation). On 29 May, 1963, while on a local flight from Stapleford, the engine  failed and it crashed into the roof of Marlow Court, Willesden Lane, London, NW 2 killing both occupants [5].
  2. Originally produced as a spare fuselage and was completed at a later date using components from a J/2 Arrow G-APJU.
